In picking a name like "Boxing Lager" I'm sure the last thing Minhas Creek Brewing expected was controversy, But that's exactly what they got last December when the AGCO sent them a letter about their dastardly choice of nouns.
The complaint stems from Canada's law against the use of "sports" in advertising alcohol. Apparently using the term "Boxer" convinces us consumer that beer will give us super strength.
Check out the Good Beer Blog's post for some interesting breakdowns of this silly law.
