There are few things that I enjoy more than having a great meal. I love to eat, I love to cook and I love to go out to dinner. Lucky me, one of my favorite markets in Chicago, August, located at 1500 W. Division, is a grocery store that caters to the home cook by day, and, about once a month, it is my favorite place to dine by night.
Every now and then (there is no set schedule) owners George Djurovic and Angie Kongabel put together an 'After Hours' dinner that starts after August has closed up shop for the day. The store is transformed into a dining room and around 8 o'clock guests settle in to be delighted by Chef Djurovic's creations. The menu focuses largely on seasonal ingredients and is always a surprise.
This Friday, February 19th, is August's first after hours dinner of 2010... I strongly encourage you to make a reservation. These dinners are so good I try never to miss one!
